Alien Escapade • Episode 1074 - The Gantry: Director, Beagle, Leila, Manager, Sec, Technician, Vanna, ~ 07 {Leila's Trullo ~ 3} - [Ping-Pong-Ping] - [On Visual] ``Leila: Hiya, you two. ``Beagle: Hi. ``Vanna: You are the clever one on these subjects. ``Leila: There is not much they can do as there are hardly any clauses and you have a justified reason for terminating their contract. ``Vanna: What about compensation? ``Leila: It implies a token of 'good-will' offer on either side. ``Vanna: Tactics? Play it down and paint a bad picture. ``Vanna: Well it is bad anyway if they want to accept. ``Leila: Go for it. ``Vanna: Zarfs Leila. ``Leila: I hear your trip was a mind boggler? ``Vanna: Zaa. I will catch up with you on that shortly. ``Leila: Zarfs for the birthday present. ``Vanna: Zarfs and Zimo. [Algol Space Dock Office] ``Sec: Quano again! ``Vanna: Can you arrange a meeting with the company which rents your gantry? ``Sec: Certus, but I will seek permission, and try and get something arranged for later this qef. {Algol Gantry Meeting ~ 5} ``Vanna: Zaffre for calling this meeting at short notice. I have been called in to advise on the situation, and unfortunately the gantry has been condemned owing to the controlled explosion, and has to come down, There are a couple of options open: 1} Terminate your contract owing to circumstances beyond our control. 2) We could erect a new mast, but that would incur a new contract, and your lease would increase. ``Director: How soon will the gantry have to come down? ``Vanna: Qefs, because it could come down on Space Dock at anytime. ``Manager: How long would it take to erect a new mask? ``Beagle At least a week. ``Technician. So we would be off air? ``Beagle: Zaa. ``Manager: Where would the new mast be? ``Beagle: Over in the far corner on reclaimed land. ``Director: Access? ``Beagle: We would create a pathway down to the main way. ``Technician: What about interference. ``Beagle: We have no experience on that side of things. ``Manager. Power? ``Beagle: As long as you stay on low power we can probably manage, but owing to health and safety rules, all our cables have to be replaced, as we do not know what are the consequences. ``Director: Surely the insurance will cover you on this? ``Beagle: We have checked, and it is a separate structure, so it does not come under buildings and contents insurance. ``Vanna: The office block is also being demolished, but that was covered. ``Manager: If we did decide to pull out, would you pay us some compensation. ``Beagle: I am sure that would be in order as long as it was a reasonable amount. ``Director: We have enough to consider the options, so we will be back in touch very shortly. Zimo. ``Vanna: Coming on a shorter river cruise? ``Beagle: It seems to work to make us all slow down. ``Vanna: I can now go home and have a break? ``Beagle: Is it true, that you took them out again? ``Vanna: We had to, as we never got a chance. It is also the Cassiopeians way, and we did give them the options first. [Pip-Pip-Pip] ``Beagle: A message from Sec. They have accepted a good will token and cancellation of contract. ``Vanna: Wonderful. ``Beagle: That will cost him another ¢50K, but the lawyers bill have gone that high. ``Vanna: It should quin Boaz, once he gets over the shock. Shall we have the fish special? As I am in high energy mode, but it is not a hint to become incinta. ``Beagle: Hey! Actually that will quin Fleet, as they have agreed too having a twin SCANDA system. ``Vanna: Hopefully this will give me a few qefs off. I need to finish some of some major ongoing jobs. ``Beagle: I will try and get you some more commission. ``Vanna: Not to confuse you, but you will have to write up a separate report for Space Dock, as that must be my 5th commission expense. ``Beagle. I will work on it. --- This is nice, and it does make you stop and give you time to think. ``Vanna: We all need to slow down, and Leila says it is the Tortoise and the Hare.
