{Onboard Saucer in flight to Earth ~ 11}
``Jarry: Food time --- ``Zola: Another 2nd time to go. [Bang, bang, bang] ``Skipper: What the hell was that? ``Leila: We have slowed down! [Upper Deck] ``Kirin: Captain full emergency procedure and drive shut down. ``Jarry: Full harnesses now. I must go! --- Navigational computers all okay Captain. ``Captain: I think we have lost hyperdrive. ``Kirin: Confirmed Captain. Activating emergency beacon. Jarry send SOS transmission. ``Jarry: Zaa sir. ``Kirin: You have control Captain, I need to do some checks. ``Captain: Confirmed. ``Skipper: Look on the display we have lost Hyperdrive and slowing down to Mach 9. ``Leila: Is it serious? ``Skipper: Let us hope not, but Leila we will have to keep our distance! ``Leila: Certus.

``Kirin: [Intercom] Skipper, you have permission to come to the Upper Deck! ``Skipper: Zaa, sir --- ``Captain: Any suggestions? ``Skipper: Three possible causes. The vacuum return valve is faulty; the pressure chamber has sprung a leak; or we have a metal fatigue problem. ``Kirin: I can find nothing obviously wrong Captain. ``Captain: Do a manual check on the vacuum valve. ``Kirin: Zaa Captain. ``Jarry: All instrumentation is reading normal, and we are maintaining Mach 9, Captain. ``Captain: Zaffre Jarry. ---``Kirin: Seems okay Captain, although we do have a spare. ``Captain: Put a manual gauge on the pressure chamber, but get kitted up in protected clothing. ``Kirin: Zaa Captain. ``Captain: Skipper any other suggestions? ``Skipper: It would mean a space walk. ``Captain: An outer cloaking device failure? ``Skipper: Zaa Captain. I am pleased to say that everything else in the Saucer is functioning okay, including oxygen and charging circuits. ``Captain: Take over. I will go and see my passengers. ``Skipper: Zaa, sir.

``Captain: Are you all okay? ``Vanna: Zaa zaffre, but we have hyperdrive failure? ``Captain: Zaa. Kirin is looking into the second possibility, but you will be pleased to know that everything else is fully operational. ``Zola: It is quicker to go to Earth, than to go home! ``Captain: Good point and zaa, we would stay on our Island, but it will take over two qefs to get there. ``Vanna: I can cope with that, but then it will be a rescue mission? ``Captain: Zaa, the distress signal should be just about reaching them by now, but it will take another 1st time, to get a response back. So just sit back and relax, and you may move around. I must go. ``Leila: I am not sure whether I can concentrate on playing games. ``Zola: It will help us!

``Skipper: I have made a patch for the computers Captain, and it says it will take 2.5 qefs to get to Earth. ``Captain: That is a relief. We have emergency rations on board for three qefs. ``Skipper: Excellent. Jarry send Morse to Keith ‘on route but 2 suns delay’. ``Jarry: Zaa, sir. I have also requested a relay on to Scotty.

{Space Cavern} - [Back in Cassiopeia ~ 5]
``Ops: Sir Emergency distress call. ``S-Pilot: Who from? ``Ops: S182, sir. ``S-Pilot: Scramble! Let’s get going. [Alarm sounds] Piped everyone in, and take all the food out of the canteen. ``Ops: Zaa sir. ``Engineers: Sir! ``S-Pilot: Two volunteers to go to Earth! ``Engineers: I will go, in fact and I do have another engineer who has just volunteered, sir. ``S-Pilot: Good. 1st time to lift-off, and we think they have Hyperdrive failure. ``Engineers: That is a tricky one Pilot, because we will have to make the parts onboard our Saucer. ``S-Pilot: Make it happen. ``Engineers: Zaa sir. ``Boss: Zaa Pilot? ``S-Pilot: ***! ``Boss: Agreed. ``Navigator: Zaa, sir. ``S-Pilot: Set a course for Earth, we leave shortly. ``Navigator: Zaa, sir.

{The Lodge ~ 2}
``Scotty: Peggy the Team are in trouble, they have lost hyperdrive. ``Peggy: Blimey. Who do we contact? ``Scotty: That is the problem they are all in the Saucer. ``Peggy: I will mail Selina and Ming. Who else? ``Scotty: Tetra and Jinn. ``Peggy: I will mail Tetra and you inform the Oligarchy. ``Scotty: Confirmed.
